Above all else, in the 11-18s work of TLC we are family, united in a common purpose, to love Him, and to show him to others. What’s the vision, the heart? The vision is to see city transformation, through loving one life at a time, and through stepping out in the power of the Holy Spirit. How do we do this?
We run 2 youth groups for the young people of the church, one on a Monday night called ‘Revolution’ for 11-14 year olds, and the other on a Friday night called ‘Real’ for 14-18 year olds. These groups are completely different in style, layout and design, yet they both capture this: that when a young person walks through the doors of Real or Revolution they feel like they have come home. Revolution is fun and chaos, sport and energy, with radical games and ideas. Extreme sport, weekends away, water fights, and a place to get to know and meet with Jesus. Real is slightly more sophisticated, more music based, still with a great energy and excitement, it is creative, inclusive and a load of fun. We also run a ROC Cafe on Thursday nights for the youth of the community.
We run weekends away, days out, Christmas balls, worship events, evangelism training and music workshops, because we believe in the potential of young people. We also run lunch time clubs in schools and many discipleship groups. We know with assurance that God loves young people and his heart is for them. This is why we do what we do
